Signage
All Scania dealers and workshops must clearly communicate the Scania identity with signs in such a way that customers immediately recognise that they are at an authorised Scania dealer.
Global signage
To ensure a strong unified global visual identity, all signage must be ordered from the global signage assortment. The Scania signage assortment includes signs, pylons and flags for visibility and recognition at close, medium and long range.
Production units utilise the same global signage assortment as dealers, but for wall signs only the Scania wordmark is used, according to the Scania visual identity guidance. To protect the Scania brand and ensure visibility, signs and flags must be kept well maintained, clean and undamaged.
Please note!
Local production of signage is not allowed. This is an illustrative example of placements and proportions only.
For signage we always use a combination of symbol and wordmark. The only exception is the enamel symbol sign next to the entrance.
Update of old signage
All signs must be kept well maintained, clean and undamaged. Signs with the old Scania logotype (with gold crown) may be kept, as long as they are in good condition and not broken. When a sign is reparied, or updated to LED, it must be updated to the new logotype.
After repair of one part of the sign, an old symbol sign may be combined with a new wordmark sign and vice versa. When updating to LED both signs should be updated. For display material with lower cost, like flags, only the new logotype is allowed.
Signage assortment
To ensure a strong unified global visual identity, all signage must be ordered from the global signage assortment (local production is not allowed).
Three catalogues are available on Reflex:
- For dealers and workshops - the main catalogue with full assortment
- For small premises - catalogue with a selected assortment (from the main catalogue)
- For production units, head office, warehouses etc. - an adapted assortment
The signage catalogues include signs and pylons for visibility and recognition at close, medium and long range at dealers and workshops as well as production units, warehouses and head office.
To ensure this, only signage in the standard Scania global assortment will be possible to order. All other signage requests needs to be approved by global product manager for signage (Gun Fredriksson) at Scania head office.
How to order?
Scania has signed 4 agreements with leading corporate signage suppliers to cover the global needs for Scania exterior signage. Signage is no longer possible to order from Scania Parts Logistics. All signage is handled by the contracted suppliers.
Note! All orders should be placed via your business unit.
Flags are ordered through the B2B webshop.
Advantages with the new setup:
- Secured identical brand identity on a global level
- Establishment of a local supplier base to minimize logistic footprint
- Cost efficient and high quality products
- Minimized damaged signage and reduced internal handling of signage
What´s new?
There is a new ordering routines where you order the signage via the awarded supplier in your region. Invoices will be sent directly from the suppliers. Please note, different signage products have different lead-times. Therefore, early in the project, establish contact with the supplier for your region to ensure delivery times and transport lead times.
Scania has signed contracts with the suppliers and the contracts are distributed within your respective purchasing organisation. Prices have been negotiated centrally and no price negotiations are to be held locally regarding the price of the signage. Logistics, installation and maintenance are optional and are quoted on project basis.
